In this Wordtune review, we shall be exploring the ins and outs of the tool to ultimately find out whether this software is worth your time and money or not?
Writing better sentences can take your writing to a whole new level! Wordtune is an AI re-phrasing and writing tool designed to accomplish just that!
As a professional freelance writer and an author with multiple published books, writing plays a huge role in my life.
Editing articles and making them better to read is tough, and unlike other writing tools, I must say, Wordtune is a remarkably good piece of software, and it makes the task easy.
What is WordTune?
Wordtune is an AI rephrasing tool that helps you write better sentences.
Let’s explore the features that the tool has to offer. First off, it has various modes like:
- Casual: This makes the sentence more informal and less serious.
- Formal: This makes the text sound more corporate and professional. Great for writing to your boss.
- Shortening: Shorten your sentences to fit as much as possible in the least amount of words.
- Expanding: Helpful when you want to express a thought in the most complete and lengthy way without making it feel unnecessary and fluffed.
- Rephrasing: Suggests better words and variations of the same sentence.
Apart from a browser extension, Wordtune also has an editor where you can use the tool, which is quite similar to Grammarly.
Now that we have mentioned Grammarly, which is a really popular writing tool, let’s compare Wordtune with it.
Grammarly is an editing and rewriting tool, and apart from rephrasing sentences, it also has multiple other features like shortening, grammar corrections, synonyms, tone detection, and plagiarism checks.
It’s a complete suite of writing tools, whereas, on the other hand, Wordtune is specifically built to rewrite sentences. It doesn’t have any extra features and perks.
Plus, Grammarly is way more popular and used than Wordtune, and it has been there for a long time.
Coming back, some other features of Wordtune are its online editor and that it can translate and rewrite sentences from 9 different languages to English which is truly awesome!
The onboarding process with Wordtune is straightforward.
First, you need to install the extension for your respective browser like Chrome, Edge, etc.
Secondly, you’ll be prompted to sign up for a free account. You can do so with Google, Facebook, or E-Mail login.
Next, you’ll be asked to answer a short round of questions, and they’ll show you how to use the tool.
Then, you can just open the website where you write like Docs, Office, Word, LinkedIn, etc., and other platforms that use Wordtune whenever you want!
Ease of Use
Wordtune is very easy to use, and as it works on multiple popular platforms, you can count on it to always be there when you need it.
As a new user, I could get started with using Wordtune within just 5 mins. All you need to do is just select the text, click on the Wordtune logo that pops up and select from the available re-write options.
One of the best things about Wordtune is that it isn’t as distracting as Grammarly and other writing tools.
Another great thing is that there is a keyboard shortcut to rewrite the text automatically. This is particularly useful, as selecting and clicking buttons to perform functions is tedious and very slow.
Wordtune also has an online editor that you can use. The editor's interface is also very good. With the tools present on the top, it's easy to use and is very sophisticated.
Re-phrasing Capabilities Of The Tool
I wrote a few sentences and rewrote them with Wordtune. Here are the results:
Original Sentence: I have been featured on some of the biggest websites in the world
New Sentence: It has been my honor to be featured on some of the most prestigious websites on the web
Original Sentence: How about we schedule this meeting for tomorrow morning?
New Sentence: Would it be OK if we met tomorrow morning?
Original Sentence: I must say that your work is really good and I appreciate it
New Sentence: As far as your work is concerned, I really appreciate your efforts
With any online tool, support is critical as you can run into issues quite often. There is live chat support in Wordtune, and there is a small knowledge base present regarding some common fixes and features.
The staff does take time to respond (around a day or two).
Pricing and Value for Money
There is a free version available, and the paid pricing starts at $9.99/month for a yearly plan and $24.99/month if you opt to pay monthly.
The annual pricing is quite affordable, although the monthly pricing is expensive.
Other writing help tools like Grammarly, which include re-phrasing along with other important writing tasks like grammar detection, cost around half the price. However, the AI Rephrasing is definitely better with Wordtune.
It’s a matter of personal preference, whether you want to pay for a single AI rewriting feature or would prefer a cheaper software with more writing tools at the cost of the re-writing quality!
But looking at the price for Wordtune, it won’t be wrong to say that it is good value for money and for professionals, it would pay off in the end!
There is also a free version. However, I feel that it is too limiting. For example, if you write a lot every day like me, then twenty revisions are not enough. Hence, you would need to consider the paid pricing. Also, the free plan doesn’t offer the different tones and shortening or expanding capabilities provided in the paid plans.
But for casual writers, it should be more than enough.
Alternatives to Wordtune
I have already talked about Grammarly in this post, and it’s an excellent grammar checking and rewriting tool with great extra features. It’s supported on even more platforms than Wordtune and has its own desktop apps for Windows and Mac.
Grammarly is a top spelling, grammar and plagiarism checker. It'll help you find and fix errors fast, and it works everywhere. It's trusted by millions of writers for a reason.
This is another very advanced paraphrasing tool with more features like synonyms and vocabulary enhancements to improve the quality of words. It also has other tools like grammar checking, summarizer, citation generator, etc.
Just like Grammarly, this is another wildly popular writing tool with grammar enhancements, synonyms, quizzes, and reports on your writing.
ProWritingAid is a powerful, accurate grammar checker and style editor. It's suitable for non-fiction and fiction writers and doesn't require a monthly subscription.
Final Verdict on WordTune review: Would I Recommend It?
I’m happy to say ‘YES.’ WordTune has impressed me a lot, but needless to say, there’s still room for improvement.
When it comes to the actual functionality and quality of the sentences generated, it is reliable. It is a usefuk AI tool. As such, there are some mistakes and errors sometimes, but that is acceptable.
It definitely completed its promise of helping you write better, as we explored in this review!
